Penn Poetry and Poetics offers a series of casual, conversational events structured around the presentation of one or two poems and a short critical talk by each guest.
Raquel Salas-Rivera has written numerous poems and essays, most of which have been published in Puerto Rican poetry magazines. She has also published Caneca de anhelos turbios, with Editora Educación Emergente, and will soon publish her second book, tierra intermitente, with Isla Negra Editores. Her first chapbook oropel/tinsel is being published by Lark Books in April. She was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
Oki Sogumi was born in Seoul, Korea and currently resides in Philadelphia. She is the author of The Island of Natural History (forthcoming from Publication Studio), and a chapbook, Salt Wedge. She writes poetry, speculative fiction, and into little boxes on the internet sometimes. She dreams commune dreams.
